Now that the turkey, ham and everything else has been put away and the house has been put back into order, everyone, yes everyone, begins to ponder about Christmas. With today being the proverbial 'Black Friday', many of you have been to the mall or are headed to the mall today to take advantage of 'the great deals' that are out there.
This is the part of Christmas that disheartens me and saddens me for the most part. It is the commercialization of a Heavenly Celebration that Madison Avenue marketing gurus have manipulated over the years. Christmas is more than the wrapping and tinsel and the debt incurred to please others. Someone once told me that Christmas is a time where you spend money that you don't have to buy something you don't need for people that you don't really like.
Despite that, I believe every person can be a CEO, Christian Encouraging Others. There is not enough encouraging going on around the table, BUT I believe it is a choice we can and we should make as believers and blood bought servants to our Lord and Savior.
In the Bible it says, "For I know the plans I have for you declared the Lord, plans to prosper you not to harm you, plans for a hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11
That verse is for you and me, and anyone else walking today, and that is the GOOD NEWS! It is our responsibility to share the Good News of The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the easiest way to do that is to encourage others around you on a consistent basis. GOD wants you to Prosper (you need to look up the Greek definition) and not be in harm's way, GOD has plans for YOUR Future and YOUR Hope.
Go out and preach how good God is, and if you have to, use a few words. Let your life show what you have received and what you believe. This is a wonderful time of the year to share the unconditional love of Jesus.
I challenge all that are reading this blog to make an EFFORT to encourage others, to find something uplifting to say and to show the love of Christ to others. Remember, Jesus is not a season, HE is the reason...... period.
Blessings to you and yours always in the love of Christ ~ Rev Bu
